Rua dos Navegantes
Rua dos Navegantes is a short street lying at the northwest corner of Coloane. Its name is derived from the fishing population, the so-called “navegantes” (seafarers) that used to live in the street.
The Sam Seng Kong Temple of Coloane stands at the junction east of the street. A 210-metre stretch of stilt-houses occupying 4930 square metres runs along the waterfront of Avenida de Cinco de Outubro on its western side. It is currently the largest stilt-house area across Macao and the last of its kind.
The street ends at Largo do Cais in the north, where a small shrine in red dedicated to the Earth God stands by the seaside.
