Estrada da Vitória begins at Rua da Fonte da Inveja in the east and meets Calçada do Gaio in the west.

The centennial road was already documented in “Cadastro das Vias Públicas de Macau” (Cadastre of Public Roads of Macao) published in 1905. It was subsequently lengthened and had its direction changed. By 1925, the layout of the road was already the same as that of today. The Victory Garden that lies at the central to the east section of the road is erected with a “Triumphal Monument” or “Memorial Monument of Victory over the Dutch” at its central to mark the defeat of the Dutch by the Portuguese in the Dutch invasion of Macao in 1622.

The Vasco da Gama Garden is located in between the western end of Estrada da Vitória and Rua de Ferreira do Amaral. It was constructed in 1898 under the design of the Portuguese architect, Augusto César d’Abreu Nunes, to commemorate the 400th  anniversary of the discovery of the sea route to India by Vasco da Gama.
