Travessa da Fábrica
Travessa da Fábrica starts between no. 23 and no. 25 of Estrada da Areia Preta and ends in Rua do Templo Lin-Fong. It is 85 metres long and approximately 6 metres wide, which runs northeast-southwest. The lane was first recorded in “Cadastro das Vias Públicas de Macau” (Cadastre of Public Roads of Macao) published in 1925. Its Portuguese name “Travessa da Fábrica” means “lane of factories”.
In the 1970s and 1980s, the district of Areia Preta, where Travessa da Fábrica was located, was one of the important industrial districts in Macao, dotted with garment manufacturing factories, electronics factories, rubber factories, can manufacturing factories, breweries, and firecracker factories, among others.
The Mong Há Hill Municipal Park is at the end of Travessa da Fábrica. Early in the morning or at dusk, local residents gather there for bodily exercise and leisure.
