Rua da Praia do Manduco
Rua da Praia do Manduco, one of the oldest streets in Macao, starts at Rua de João Lecaros to the north and ends at Rua do Almirante Sérgio to the south.
Entering the street from its northern end, one can find to the right the S. Lourenco Municipal Market Complex, once a municipal garden (also called the "new garden"). On the left is a branch of the Bank of China, formerly a manpower recruitment centre. When the Portuguese settled in Macao, they initially traded with the Chinese around Rua da Praia do Manduco. When fishing industry reached its prime, numerous fishing boats could be found docking at the pier near the street every day.
