In view of the sharp increase in the amount of garbage during Lunar New Year period as residents clean their homes to welcome the new year, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and the Macau Residue System Company, Ltd. will strengthen their city cleaning and garbage collection efforts from 8 January to 11 February 2020 to ensure the cleanliness of the city.
From 11 January to 24 February 2020, 132 collection points for large-sized garbage will be set up in Macao. Among those collection points, 108 will be set up in Macao Peninsula, and 15 and 9 collection points will be set up in Taipa and Coloane respectively. Residents can make use of the mentioned collection points for large-sized garbage from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Macau Residue System Company, Ltd. will put up signs at the mentioned locations.
The Macau Residue System Company, Ltd. will publish the locations and opening hours of the collection points for large-sized garbage in newspapers in 3 times from 8 to 20 January before Lunar New Year so that the public will be aware of the arrangements (Publication dates: 8 January, 11 January and 20 January 2020).
The locations and opening hours of the large-sized garbage collection points will be published on the website of the IAM (Publication period: 8 to 24 January 2020) so residents can check the relevant information online. Residents can also call 2833 7676 for enquiries.
