“China’s Arbor Day” is celebrated annually on 12 March. This statutory festival aims to encourage people’s enthusiasm in forest conservation and forestation, promote greening of national territory, and protect the ecological environment that human beings rely on for survival. On the Arbor Day, all local governments, institutions, schools and companies in China respond to the forestation call to hold tree planting ceremonies and participate in tree planting activities.
