World Water Day

According to the Resolution 47/193, 22 March of each year is declared “World Water Day” in conformity with the recommendations of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) contained in Chapter 18 of Agenda 21. The aim of World Water Day is to urge for comprehensive planning and management of water resources and protection of water resources, resolving the increasingly severe problems of freshwater shortage, and launching extensive publicity activities to raise public awareness of developing and conserving water resources.
