To better utilise unused land and to address the public’s needs for children’s leisure facilities, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) used the land next to Hac Sá Beach Park to set up a temporary off-roading track. The young children zone of the track is suitable for use by children aged 5 to 12 and will be open to the public on December 3. The public can make their bookings through the “Advance booking system for visiting green facilities (Individual)”, and purchase tickets on site during the booked session for entry and rental of quadricycle (only cash is accepted currently). Parents are welcome to bring their children to play in the venue.
The off-roading track is located next to Hac Sá Beach Park, near the temporary green zone in the barbecue area. A young children zone and a youth zone is set up on the track. The young children zone suitable for children aged 5 to 12 is open in the first stage. The off-roading track takes up an area of about 2,700 square metres, and environment-friendly design concept is used. The track, with a total length of about 180 metres, is paved with natural sand and stone, and tires are used as separation barriers. Children can ride the quadricycles rented on site and enjoy the fun of being in the natural wild.
IAM has recently invited local parent-child groups to run tests on site. After listening to users’ opinions, the track will be open to the public on December 3. The public can make their bookings through the “Advance booking system for visiting green facilities (Individual)” https://www.iam.gov.mo/e/online/submenu and arrive at the location in advance of the booked session to purchase tickets and rent quadricycles. The ticket price is MOP10 (only cash is accepted currently). Each ticket is valid for one admission to the track for a maximum of one hour. The quadricycles of young children depart every hour on the hour during opening hours, and a maximum of 20 children can be accommodated in one session. Users are required to comply with the arrangements of on-site staff, pay attention to safety and conform to the direction of vehicular movement. Children can wear their own safety gear, such as helmets, protection for wrists, elbows and knees, safety goggles, etc. based on their needs.
The young children zone of the off-roading track is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays from May to October every year, and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays from November to April of the next year. The track is closed on Monday, but it is open if a public holiday falls on Monday and closed on the following working day.
In addition to the young children zone of Hac Sá off-roading track, facilities with different functions such as the youth zone of the track and other leisure areas will be completed gradually, depending on the actual work progress, and will be in service as soon as possible. Over 50 barbecue pits recently added in the expanded barbecue area in Hac Sá Beach Park have been put into service to provide more outdoor venues for the public to relax their body and mind.
