To prevent novel coronavirus pneumonia, only some facilities will be open in Iao Hon Activity Centre starting from 2 March 2020, namely reading area.
All other facilities will be temporarily closed to the public. Residents are advised to cooperate.
Iao Hon Activity Centre (first and third floors)
Iao Hon Activity Centre, located in Bairro Iao Hon Municipal Market, is composed of sports fields on the rooftop, the first and third floors, providing services to residents in the community.
Sports fields on rooftop
The sports fields on the rooftop of the centre include a basketball court, two basketball shooting fields and two badminton courts. They are suitable for use by people who are fond of sports and non-profit associations. The opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. In case of conditions such as typhoon, rain or flood, the sports fields will be closed temporarily.
Rules for use of sports fields of Iao Hon Activity Centre
A) Use by individuals:
² The maximum number of users of the whole basketball court is 24 people. Without the consent of the staff on duty, the basketball court cannot be used for competition with a few people without authorisation (in a 3x3 basketball competition, only half of the court can be used and it is not allowed to use the whole court).
² The maximum number of users of the two basketball shooting fields is 26 people, and spaces are on a first come, first served basis.
² Each of the two badminton courts can be used by 2 people or above.
² According to the user limit of the mentioned venues, the time to use the venues each time is one hour per person. If nobody waits for the turn, one is allowed to continue using the venues. If there are people waiting, one must wait for 15 minutes after the entry of the person queuing, in order to queue for the turn to enter the venues again.
B) Use by groups (Booking in advance is required):
² The fields can be provided for legal associations, schools, public or private organisations, etc. which are registered in the Macao Special Administrative Region to apply for rental for free.
² It is required to file an application for use in writing to the IAM 30 days before the use period.
² The use period cannot exceed consecutive 3 months, 3 days per week and 3 hours per day, and the use periods are provided on a first come, first served basis.
² The number of users of the whole basketball court must be 24 people or above.
² The number of users of each basketball shooting field must be 12 people or above.
² The number of users of each badminton court must be 8 people or above.
² The number of users each time should be approximately the same as originally declared.
² The group to use the venue must arrive 5 minutes in advance. If it is late for over 15 minutes, the venue will be opened for use by the general public.
² The application for use of the venues must be reviewed and approved, and the IAM reserves the right for use of the venues.
The auditorium on the third floor of Iao Hon Activity Centre, which can accommodate about 140 people, is available for legal associations, schools, public or private organisations, etc. registered in the Macao Special Administrative Region to apply for rental to hold non-profit cultural, recreational and sports activities.

Chinese opera room (first floor)
In order to promote the traditional Chinese culture, Iao Hon Activity Centre has set up a Chinese opera room on the first floor for residents to practise and perform Chinese opera for free. There is a fixed stage in the Chinese opera activity room with equipment for performances, and it is able to accommodate 30 people. The opening hours of the Chinese opera room are: A) 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; B) 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; C) 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The participants are required to visit the centre in person to queue for any one of the sessions of the day or to make a reservation for a session of the following working day (booking by phone is not available). The sessions are offered on a first come, first served basis. In every session, only 4 to 15 participants are allowed to use the room at the same time. The participants can choose their performance songs, which must be Chinese opera songs. All activities must meet the assessment standard and requirements of the Assessment Committee of Performing Arts.
Notes for reservation:
1) When making a reservation, the application form must be completed and the numbers of valid Macao Resident Identity Cards or certificates of legal residence issued by the Macao SAR Government of all members must be provided.
2) All participants must produce the originals or copies of the abovementioned identification documents for verification when they enter the venue on the day of the activity.
Other facilities on first floor include:
Newspaper and magazine reading room: On the first floor of Iao Hon Activity Centre, there are a few newspapers and magazines of the day for residents to read.
Table tennis room: On the first floor of the Iao Hon Activity Centre, there is a table tennis table which is open to residents. There is no booking in advance and residents have to queue on site for their turn.
