Ecological trail in Avenida da Praia, Taipa

  

The northern section of the ecological trail in Avenida da Praia, Taipa is connected to the five existing ecological ponds and offers barrier-free access, whereas the eastern section runs through the important waterfowl habitat of the wetland in Avenida da Praia, Taipa. In order to ensure that the waterfowls are not disturbed by visitor activities, the trail is equipped with a bird-watching screen about 200 meters long and three bird-watching houses, making it convenient for visitors to appreciate the birds, and learn about the wild birds of Macao and how to live in harmony with wild animals. In the southern section of the ecological trail, there is also an entrance to the barrier-free access. Along the trail there are three lotus viewing platforms and a large leisure platform for visitors to enjoy the feeling of being in the middle of a lotus pond while having a panoramic view of the Taipa Houses-Museum.
 
In order to strike a balance between ecological conservation and the needs of residents for leisure space, the eastern and northern sections of the ecological trail in Avenida da Praia, Taipa can only be visited by appointment. Interested residents can make a booking through the “Advance booking system for visiting green facilities (Individual)”. Those who have successfully made advance bookings may register at the exit/entrance to the western section of the ecological trail close to the venue for flower exhibition at the designated time on the appointment date, after which they may freely visit the area. The time for entry by appointment is 06:00-20:00 daily (the latest admission time will be adjusted according to the sunset time for safety reasons) and the number of visitors per hour is 50.
